The village of Bania lies 5km North of Bansko, in the municipality of Razlog, district of Balgoevgrad. The village is situated right in the middle of the Razlog valley and it is surrounded by three mountains – Rila, Pirin and the Rodopi mountain (800 m. above sea level). The village lies approximately 156 km. away from the capital city of Sofia and the inhabitants are around 3 000 people, 25% of which are under 18 years of age. Everywhere in the village and around it there are ancient Thracian ruins. There are also some very nice houses from the period of the Bulgarian national revival, cultural monuments and ancient roman baths. There are more then 70 mineral springs in the area of the village with a temperature of around 55 °С, which are being used for open swimming pool and a mineral bath. This in combination with the natural wealth, the marvelous views towards the Rila and Pirin mountains, the close proximity to the world famous ski resort of Bansko makes Bania a truly all year round tourist center with a great potential. The Bansko, Bania and Dobrinishte valley is planned to become a major spa, golf and ski destination still in its early stages. The proposed airport will give an incredible boost to the property market. The village is famous for the hot springs of temperature ranging between 37 and 57 degrees Celsius used for spa and recreational purposes. The proximity of Bania to the ski facilities in Bansko, the golf course in Razlog, and its still underdeveloped tourist potential are attracting more and more investors and holiday makers. Bania is still in the dawn of its economic development and prices here are still to catch up with Bansko properties. |
